  1. What sparked your interest in working at iTAN?

Alexis: I had visited iTAN to get a spray tan for a college sorority event prior to working here. The consultant who checked me in made my visit so fun, so I always had iTAN in mind during my job search!

Lexi: My interest in working for iTAN grew overtime, but initially I didn’t know much about the beauty industry! I UV tanned for prom and loved how easy it was to feel good and confident with just a good tan. This made me curious to learn the knowledge behind this process. Since working for this company, I have learned so much more than I ever thought I would; the continuous knowledge always keeps the job so fun and interesting!

  1. How long have you been working at iTAN and what are some of your key responsibilities?

Lexi: I applied for iTAN back in 2020 and still work here today! I am coming up on 4 years with the company and have enjoyed every second of it. I have grown from an assistant all the way to a salon director managing a team of my own. I am in charge of training an A+ team of consultants to ensure all clients are receiving an amazing experience when entering my salon. 

I work on the floor interacting with clients on a daily basis, creating amazing relationships with new and returning clients. I am also constantly training my team on new ideas, new products and ensuring the salon stays in the best spa-like condition for our clients. I am here to ensure a consistent experience for all clients who visit the salon and leave feeling better than when they arrived.

Alexis: This month will mark my fourth year working for iTAN! I have held many positions, but I am currently an area manager of four locations. I oversee and develop salon management and their teams to ensure a consistently powerful experience for both our clients and consultants!

  1. What is your favorite part about the job?

Alexis: My favorite part about working at iTAN is the connections I have made with so many people. I have been able to build such amazing relationships at iTAN, and I love seeing familiar faces at every location I visit!

Lexi: My favorite part is the relationships created with clients and my team! I have such an amazing Winchester team that is like family to me. Not to mention my clients are truly amazing, and I look forward to catching up with them at every visit! Each day, I am learning new ways to grow and be better than I was the day before. With the beauty industry, it’s never the same day twice – there’s always something to learn and that’s what keeps it exciting! Each month, we offer different promotions, which means each month we strive to be better than the month prior. 

  1. What is the company culture like at iTAN? What makes it unique compared to other workplaces?

Lexi: The company culture at iTAN is like one big family. We are all here to support each other and help each other grow by sharing new ways and new ideas of accomplishing goals. We have smaller teams, which means we see each other so much throughout the week and have great bonds with each other. We always look forward to working with each person. 

iTAN also finds new ways to build our team outside of the salon! Team bondings are ways we can all get together outside of the salon and experience something new together. No matter what we do, it’s always full of fun and laughter. The culture is something you feel when visiting us; clients can feel that we enjoy working at iTAN and enjoy seeing them each and every day. We are consultants which means we are here to understand our client and help them achieve their goals, which includes educating everyone the right way to get there. We care for our clients, we care about their goals, we care about them and in return, they care about us – this is the difference between iTAN and other companies. 

Alexis: The company culture at iTAN is unlike any other company I have experienced. Our personal and professional development has always been encouraged, and it is awesome to be surrounded by like-minded driven leaders who are committed to serving others. It has been a great experience getting to help others feel their best!

  1. Can you share any memorable customer interactions or experiences from your time working at iTAN?

Alexis: I have been able to share so many great memories with my clientele that it’s hard to choose just one. Overall, I love when I run into a client that I met in my first year at iTAN, and we can pick up right where we left off.

Lexi: It’s so hard to pick just one! I have been with the company for so long that I’ve created such amazing relationships with clients. I would say a memorable experience for me was after a client left their service and I was sanitizing the room for the next person, I noticed she had left behind a ring in the room. I tried to call her to notify her but the phone number wasn’t updated! 

On her next visit when I checked her in, I had let her know about the ring she left behind that I set aside for her and she was absolutely lost for words and cried. She thanked me for finding it for her because it belonged to a loved one that is no longer with her and she explained how much that ring meant to her. Something so simple that I did made someone so grateful for my kindness. Ever since this day, our relationship has grown. She is the sweetest client ever. Every single visit, she always brings a smile to all of our faces and loves catching up with us. 

  1. If you had to choose one iTAN product/service you can’t live without, what would it be?

Lexi: One product I definitely could not live without is the JWOWW Warming Leg Bronzer paired with our High Pressure bronzing bed! Both of these combined give me such amazing color that lasts. 

Alexis: I love the LightStim Red Light Photo Facial. I have recently been preparing for my wedding and I swear by the Photo Facial for my skin. This is such a great treatment to have access to since I can normally only get this in my esthetician’s treatment room!

  1. What advice would you give to someone thinking about applying for a position at iTAN?

Alexis: If you’re thinking of applying for iTAN and have a passion for helping others feel their best, then I highly recommend it! I have made strides in my professional growth that I will take with me beyond my iTAN days! 

Lexi: My advice to someone who is looking to apply is be ready to learn! So many applicants are just like myself when I applied, curious about the industry. Someone looking to work here should be like a sponge, ready to absorb all the information we give them to be a successful consultant! 

Mistakes will be made, and that’s okay – we are here to allow those mistakes to happen and collaborate together on what we can do next time. We are here for you, so don’t be afraid to ask questions but also watch how we interact with clients and what things we do to consult. I learned best by listening, observing and then doing. It can be intimidating at first glance, but once you have completed the training process you will be ready to be just like the rest of us!
